Remembering Marine and FDNY Firefighter Aaron Clark
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
It is with deep sadness that those of us at SpartanSword.org learned of the passing of former Marine and FDNY Firefighter Aaron Clark, who left us on September 23rd. Aaron was deeply admired by the Board members and served as the primary ambassador of the Spartan Sword and Spartan Axe.
This weekend, he was to carry the Sword once again at the Veterans March Against Suicide at the John Dingle VAMC in Detroit—a role he had honored for many years. In his place, and in his memory, FDNY Firefighter Eddie Finn has graciously stepped forward to carry both the Spartan Sword and Boone Cutler’s Spartan Pledge at this important event.
This is exactly what Aaron would have wanted—and what Boone surely would have, too. We hope that this year, as many who can attend either the National Veterans Day Parade on 9 November in Washington, DC, or the NYC Veterans Day parade on 11 November will march with us in a show of force for these two American treasures.
